ACPA Board of Director 2023 Nominations

Brenna Brown

Dr. Brenna Brown is the National Laboratory Services Manager for Brenntag Canada. After completing her PhD in Chemistry at the University of Alberta, Dr. Brown worked for Mitacs Inc. as a Business Development Specialist at the University of Calgary. She then took the role of Business Development Representative for Paracel Laboratories in Calgary, establishing the laboratory in a new business market. She was promoted to Regional Manager for the Paracel – Prairie laboratory before bringing her experience in organic, analytical, and environmental chemistries along with her management experience to Brenntag in 2018. After the resignation of an ACPA board member in 2022, Dr. Brown was appointed as a member of the ACPA Board of Directors for the remainder of the term.


George Collins

I have served two, 3-year terms on the ACPA board of directors, including the ACPA registration committee. I have 20+years of chemical and laboratory management experience across the energy and petrochemical field, environmental and mining industries. I am currently a Laboratory Director, managing over ten laboratories across Canada for a large commercial laboratory organization.


William Lee

William Lee has been a member of ACPA for about 20 years. Since 2020 has been a member of the Board of Directors of ACPA. He is a member of the Technical Seminar Committee and the Practice and review committee.

William Lee earned a PhD in physical chemistry in 1986 from McGill University. From 1986 to 2018 he worked as a scientist for a large government research and development agency in areas including chem/bio detection and identification, aerosol science, biosensors, and microfluidics. At present he a partner in a technology development enterprise. Since January 2023 he has been an instructor of university transfer chemistry at an Alberta college

He is a director of the Medicine Hat & District Track and Field Society and a member of the organizing committee for 2026 Canadian Special Olympics, to be held in Alberta. He has been manager and coach of Alberta League soccer teams ranging in age U12-U19 and held coach/manager affiliation with Medicine Hat, Calgary, and Lethbridge Soccer Associations. He has over 15 years experience as a volunteer in minor sports: soccer, hockey, track and field, baseball, and chess. He has served on school parents councils for 15 academic years.

Serving as a director of ACPA has been a great pleasure and honour. The members, the board of directors, and the staff are exceptional. He wishes to continue to serve the members and be part of the great ACPA leadership team. His intention is to continue to work hard on behalf of ACPA and the ACPA leadership team.

Seyedsajjad Hosseini

My name is Sajjad and I hold a Master's degree in Analytical Chemistry. With 7 years of experience in the field, 2 of which were spent working at companies in Calgary. I have previously worked as an analyst at Bureau Veritas, a chemist at Air Liquids, and currently, I am a Research Technologist at Nova Chemical. In this role, I am responsible for developing new methods using TD-GC-GC-TOF and Pyrolsis-GC-MS. To enhance my communication skills, I have joined the Chinook Toastmasters Club as the Vice President of Education. This experience has provided me with valuable skills in conducting meetings and public speaking. I have also been a meember of ACPA for less than a year and I am eager to contribute to its goals.
