Alberta's Chemical Health and Safety requirements are found in the Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) Act, Regulation and Code. Chemical-specific requirements are found in Part 4 of the OHS Code. The OHS Code Explanation Guide provides examples of how to comply.

Many chemical health and safety professionals in Alberta are members of the American Industrial Hygiene Association – Alberta Local Section. Some of these professionals are certified by the Canadian Registration Board of Occupational Hygienists or by the American Board of Industrial Hygiene.
