ACPA Professional Courses

The ACPA offers two professional courses which are mandatory for all members.

ACPA Jurisprudence Course

The ACPA Jurisprudence Course is an online course that can be completed in approximately three hours. You will need to register for the course with a one-time fee of $150 + GST. Thereafter, you can return to the course as often as you wish. You can start taking the course and return later to complete the course as your time permits. Once the course is completed, you can return any time to look up any material or references from the course as needed.

All current members have until December to complete this course. New members and CIT's must complete this course before they can use the PChem title.

The Jurisprudence course consists of three main Modules

  • Module 1: Regulation of the Chemistry Profession
  • Module 2: Continuing Competence and Professional Scope of Practice
  • Module 3: Due Diligence in Business, Employment, and Labour Matters

You will be able to print a course certificate when the course online exam is successfully completed. Please also take a couple of minutes to complete the course evaluation survey.

The ACPA Jurisprudence Course is currently being updated and will be available through the ACPA Learning Centre in early spring 2021. Watch your email for more updates.

If not previously completed all current members will have until June 2021 to complete the Jurisprudence course as part of their ACPA membership. New members and CIT’s must complete this course before they can use the PChem title. All members that have completed the course will have access to the newly updated course when available for reference and review purposes.
