World Environment Day 2025 – Beat Plastic Pollution

Plastic pollution has reached every corner of our planet—including our own bodies in the form of microplastics. As professional chemists, we understand the responsibility we carry in shaping sustainable solutions and promoting responsible practices.

This year’s World Environment Day, observed on June 5, marks a global call to action to #BeatPlasticPollution. With just two months until countries resume negotiations on a global treaty to end plastic pollution, now is the time for systemic change.

At ACPA, we stand with responsible chemists across Alberta and around the world in advocating for sustainable innovation and science-based solutions. We encourage our members to explore nature-based practices, reduce plastic waste, and share their efforts by joining the global World Environment Day movement.
