New ACPA Board Member - Sara Schneidmiller, PhD

| Sara Schneidmiller was born and raised in Vancouver, British Columbia. She earned her Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Victoria in 2009, majoring in Chemistry. During her time at the University of Victoria, Sara participated in the Co-operative Education (Co-op) program, gaining valuable experience through both analytical and research co-op terms. |
| Sara continued her academic journey at the University of Calgary, where she obtained her PhD in Physical Chemistry. Her doctoral research focused on the photochemistry of aggregation of cyanine dyes, nanoparticle synthesis, and the enhancement of singlet oxygen using metal nanoparticles. Sara's research was recognized through the publication of three articles under her maiden name, Mooi, and she presented her findings at prestigious international conferences in Montreal, Canada; Honolulu, USA; and Oxford, UK. In 2014, Sara joined Nalco Champion, now known as ChampionX, as a Technical Specialist in the Research, Development, and Engineering Group. Her expertise and dedication led her to her current role as a Lead Chemist supporting the Flow Assurance product line. At ChampionX, Sara focuses on solving complex challenges related to oil and gas production, bridging the gap between product formulation, customer needs, and effective chemical application. She supports conventional, unconventional, and thermal operations across Western Canada. Sara is also a passionate innovator, leading a global innovation program at ChampionX that develops solutions for challenging paraffin issues. Her commitment to innovation and excellence in the field has made her a key contributor to ChampionX's success in developing leading production chemical technologies globally. Outside of her professional career, Sara enjoys spending quality time with her family. She is an avid skier, swimmer, reader, and runner. |
