It is both an honour and a privilege to step into the role of President of the Association of the Chemical Profession of Alberta (ACPA). I am truly grateful for the opportunity to serve this dynamic and dedicated community of professionals, united by a shared commitment to excellence and ethical practice.
I would like to warmly welcome our new members and recently elected Board Directors and extend heartfelt congratulations to the newest Professional Chemists who have joined the ACPA. Your involvement and engagement are vital to the continued success and advancement of our organization.
Having served on the Board for three terms, I’ve had the opportunity to witness first-hand the resilience, dedication, and integrity that define our Association. The commitment of our officers and the tireless contributions of volunteers across our committees continue to position the ACPA as a strong and forward-looking organization. Together, we will continue to elevate the chemical profession and uphold our mission to protect the public interest through ethical and professional practice.
Looking ahead, I am excited to build on the solid foundation laid by past leaders, with a clear focus on long-term sustainability and growth. Guided by our strategic plan and governance framework—and in close collaboration with the Alberta government as we prepare for changes to the Professional Governance Act (PGA)—we remain steadfast in our purpose: to advocate for the essential role of Professional Chemists, support our members, and uphold the public trust.
With your expertise, input, and collaboration, I am confident we will continue to strengthen the recognition, respect, and relevance of the chemical profession in Alberta—especially in today’s rapidly evolving landscape.
Thank you for your trust and continued support. I look forward to working with all of you in the year ahead.
