MONTREAL, April 20, 2021 / CNW Telbec / - The Ordre des chimistes du Québec (OCQ) is proud to announce that its members can administer the vaccine against COVID-19.
“Our professional order brings together members with varied skills, particularly in analytical chemistry, clinical biochemistry, pharmacology and molecular diagnostics. This is why we are pleased that the authorities concerned recognize our expertise to participate in the war effort deployed in response to COVID-19. We hope that our participation in the vaccination operations will be beneficial so that the entire Quebec population has the right to a first dose of vaccine by the summer as hoped by the Quebec government ”, affirms the president of the OCQ, Mr. Michel Alsayegh.
Chemists will be able, under the clinical supervision of a licensed health care professional, to administer doses of vaccine to the population. They will also be able to make the mixtures required to prepare doses of the COVID-19 vaccine. Chemists wishing to contribute to the vaccination effort must be employed by a health and social services establishment or must act on behalf of a person or organization with which a health and social services establishment social have made an agreement for the dispensation.
The OCQ invites members who want to contribute to the vaccination effort to register on the I contribute ! from the Government of Quebec: https://jecontribuecovid19.gouv.qc.ca/Inscription.aspx
