Congratulations to Trina Innes for being among 100 Canadian women featured in the Women in Energy Transformation Series co-hosted by Pembina Institute and GLOBE Series.

Trina brings more than 15 years of experience in the sustainability field—including nearly a decade as the chief sustainability officer at the University of Alberta—to her current role facilitating the energy transition in municipalities across Alberta. Her range of climate-focused initiatives includes the Municipal Climate Change Action Centre (MCCAC), an award-winning program that helped ten Alberta municipalities achieve net-zero electricity consumption and dozens of municipalities adopt electrified transportation and charging infrastructure. She serves on the boards of the Alberta Emerald Foundation, the Association of the Chemical Profession of Alberta, and the Alberta Ecotrust Climate Innovation Fund Executive Advisory Committee. Previously she was the board vice-chair for the Association for the Advancement of Sustainability in Higher Education, among other volunteer roles. She was awarded Clean50 and Clean16 awards in 2020 for her sustainability leadership.
