Video Contest Rules

Videos submitted will be posted at the 2020 Virtual Conference on a media wall for all registrants to view.

The organizers of this contest are the Association of Alberta Forest Management Professionals (AAFMP), Association of the Chemical Profession of Alberta (ACPA), and Alberta Society of Professional Biologists (ASPB).

Videos should fit within one of the three categories:

  • Illustrate an aspect of your position as a professional practitioner
  • Demonstrate multi-disciplinary work being done with multiple professions
  • Working in teams

Any regulated or non-regulated registrants of AAFMP, ACPA, or ASPB can enter the competition. Submissions from both individuals and teams are accepted.

Teams: Videos can be created by colleagues of the same profession or collaboratively with multiple professions. Teams may have up to three participants.

Editing: Video compilation and editing must be done by the applicant or team; professional services can not be sourced to create the video.

Length and Format

  1. Your video should be a maximum of three minutes long and be the standard MP4 or MOV files.
  2. Videos should either be in English or contain accurate English subtitles.
  3. Your video entry should be uploaded to a Google Drive or Dropbox account and set to “share” and a link provided to the organizers. The video description must include:
    • Individual or team member names
    • A very brief explanation of what the video is trying to show and the relation to the theme “STATEMENT HERE”.

Submit Your Entry

To submit your entry, send an email with the video link to [email protected]. The same team (or any individual from a team) can submit up to three videos to be considered as separate entries. Once we receive your entry, we will add it to a media wall at the conference. This will be accessible to all conference attendees.

AAFMP, ACPA, and ASPB will announce the top category winners at the conference. Winners will be chosen based on the number of views of the videos.

The video contest deadline has been extended to October 7, 2020. Submissions received after this time will not be considered.

The winners of each category will receive an Amazon gift card valued at $500. (One award per group submission.)
