The 2020 Joint Virtual Conference will be held on December 2nd to 3rd through a virtual collaboration between the Association of the Chemical Profession of Alberta (ACPA), the Association of Alberta Forest Management Professionals (AAFMP), and the Alberta Society of Professional Biologists (ASPB).

Exhibitor Experience
The 2020 Virtual Conference is our annual showcase event and an opportunity for companies to exhibit products and services and network with the industry. We recognize that shifting to online events results in drastic changes to the exhibitor experience. That is why we want to connect with you to give you a clear, complete picture of your return on investment as a 2020 Virtual Conference exhibitor.
We have heard from exhibitors that networking is an integral component of these events and have conducted extensive and thorough research of virtual conferencing platforms to maximize your experience. The Nextech/Inferno AR system we are using for our event supports customizable and interactive virtual booths, including customizable branding and advertisement, variable format content uploads, live text-chat with attendees, video chat, and contact cards. Exposure
In addition to a purchased booth, sponsors and exhibitors can expect exposure across the conference platform, and opportunities to connect with audiences in sessions and scheduled networking portions. Exhibitor logos will be featured in select organizational distributions and publications and within the virtual platform.

Video Contest (Closed)
Any regulated or non-regulated registrants of AAFMP, ACPA, or ASPB are eligible to enter the 2020 Virtual Conference Video Contest. Videos submitted will be posted at the 2020 Virtual Conference on a media wall for all registrants to view. Submissions from both individuals and teams are accepted.
Videos should fit within one of the three categories:
- Illustrate an aspect of your position as a professional practitioner
- Demonstrate multi-disciplinary work being done with multiple professions
- Working in teams
To submit your entry, send an email with the video link to [email protected]. The same team (or any individual from a team) can submit up to three videos to be considered as separate entries. Once we receive your entry, we will add it to the media wall at the conference.
AAFMP, ACPA, and ASPB will announce the top category winners at the conference. Winners will be chosen based on the number of views of the videos. The winners of each category will receive an Amazon gift card valued at $500. (One award per group submission.)
The video contest deadline of October 7, 2020, has passed. Submissions received after this time will not be considered.
Chemistry Student Contest (Closed)
What do you want to do with your degree as a professional chemist?
Association of Chemical Profession of Alberta is pleased to invite you to participate in an essay contest. The winner will be announced during our fall Virtual Conference on December 2nd and 3rd.
Are you passionate about your degree? Can’t you wait to show your work and your ideas to the professionals in your field? And did you find it hard to do so during the COVID period? Here is the right place to showcase your talent, use your imagination, and let the world know of what you are going to do with your degree in chemistry? Because…..
There is nothing in the world that is not Chemistry!
So, please hurry up! Deadline is reaching fast, and space is limited.
Write an essay and describe “what do you want to do with your degree as a professional chemist?”
1st Place: $200 Amazon Gift Card (CAD)

Contest Rules
- Wordcount: 750 words maximum.
- Deadline: November 1st, 2020 (closed)
- Essays should be written individually.
- A template is provided and has to be used for submission.
- Eligibility: All undergraduate and graduate chemistry students in Alberta
- Submission: Please email your essay, together with the copy of your student ID to [email protected]
- Applications without the proof of being a student in AB are not accepted.
- Please don’t submit confidential information.
- The winners will be selected based on the criteria mentioned in the slide template.
