Traditionally, technology developers and manufacturers face countless challenges when attempting to conduct tests in-the-field. Lab equipment is often fragile and therefore difficult to transport. Furthermore, such equipment is designed to be used by highly-trained professionals.

The solution is microfluidic packaging. An innovative solution, microfluidic packaging allows reagents to be placed into portable containers that can then be taken directly to points of care or use for tests.

In this lunch & learn, Viet Hoang P.Eng. and William Cully P.Eng. will explain how microfluidic packaging can help you translate your prototype into a manufacturing-ready product at a much faster rate and with less required training.

About the Presenters

Viet Hoang, P.Eng

Viet Hoang, P.Eng is a Senior Development Engineer.  He has a B.Sc. in Engineering Physics and an M.Sc. degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering from the University of Alberta. He has nine years of experience in finite element modeling both in research and industrial settings and has been a part of ACAMP‘s technical staff since December 2008, handling various multiphysics simulation and design projects.

William Cully, P.Eng.

William Cully, P.Eng. is a Process and Manufacturing Engineering Manager.  He is a graduate of the University of Alberta where he studied Engineering Physics. He joined ACAMP in 2010 as a Product Development Engineer in the Edmonton facility. He has been responsible for a number of ACAMP’s key process technologies such as microfluidics, micromachining, photolithography, and electroforming. William has also assisted many ACAMP customers to develop new technology-enabled products such as lab on a chip devices and solar-powered sensors for remote applications.
